The waters around Weipa are home to an amazing and varied array of marine life: The majestic Barramundi, the awesome Salt Water Crocodile, succulent Mud crabs and the deadly Box Jelly fish are just a few, but perhaps the most deadly of them all are the real speed demons - our local Swimming Club members. Would you like to be one of them?

We welcome new and past members and their families to the Weipa Swimming Club for the new season. The main aim of our club is to promote the sport of swimming, and the sportsmanship and enjoyment that goes with it, regardless of the level of achievement of our swimmers. We are a young, enthusiastic and approachable committee with a strong parental support base. For the continued success of our club, we rely heavily on volunteer and parental support at our club nights and any other functions we may hold.

While our “local” area is a bit too far to travel to all the carnivals we would like to, we challenge ourselves by striving to achieve personal goals; celebrating when we do. We also recognize when individual milestones are reached according to the International Point Score system.

Club nights are held on Friday evenings with events for all age groups.
